A new contingent of medical collaborators arrive to Gambia
Gambia, December 26, 2012. A contingent of 42 medical collaborators from Cuba arrived this morning to Banjul, Republic of The Gambia for continuing the historic cooperation in health between the two countries.
The Ambassador of Cuba in Gambia, Ines Fors Fernandez and Dr. Marcial Lopez Dominguez, Head of the Cuban Medical Brigade went to the airport and offered a warm welcome to the doctors and the health technicians.
The members of solidarity with Cuba joined the reception. In short and emotional speech, Mr. Momodou Grant, President of the Gambia-Cuba Friendship expressed the deep appreciation of the Gambian people to Cuban medical cooperation and welcomed the new contingent.
Gambia has been assisted for more than 3000 Cubans medical professionals since 1996 and currently there are 147 collaborators working in this African nation. (Cubaminrex / Embacuba Gambia).
