New Cuban Concurrent Ambassador Presents Credentials in the Republic of Kiribati
KIRIBATI, April 30, 2012.- As part of a solemn ceremony presented her Credentials to His Excellency Mr. Anote Tong, President of the Republic of Kiribati, the new Concurrent Ambassador of Cuba in that country, Maria del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, resident in New Zealand.
In the exchanges held, both sides agreed to highlight the good relations between Cuba and Kiribati and the convergence in the positions of both countries for peace, disarmament, development and environmental protection. The Cuban diplomat thanked the sustained support provided by Kiribati in international organizations, in particularly to the Cuban resolution against the blockade in the UN General Assembly.
On his part, the President thanked Cuba's cooperation in the field of health, praising the excellent work undertaken by the Cuban medical brigade in his country and the possibility that young people of Kiribati could be formed as doctors in Cuba.
At the meeting were also present, the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Kiribati, and the Charge d'Affaires of Cuba in that country, Ambassador Esteban Lobaina.(Cubaminrex/Embacuba New Zealand)
