Cuba Appoints New Ambassador to Venezuela
CUBA, August 12, 2009. Cuba has appointed Rogelio Polanco Fuentes as the new Ambassador to Venezuela.
At the time of the appointment, he was the editor in chief on one of Cuba’s major newspapers, Juventud Rebelde. But for the past five years, he has successfully completed important assignments related to the Bolivarian Revolution.
Planco graduated from Political International Relations. He represented Cuba at the Student’s International Union; and, for many years, he headed the International Relations Department of Cuba’s Young Communist League. He is also a deputy to Cuba’s National Assembly.
His predecessor in the diplomatic post, German Sanchez Otero, who has commendably led the Cuban diplomatic mission in Venezuela for the past 15 years, will be given new assignments. (Cubaminrex- RHC)
