Cuban Ambassadors Take Oath at Revolution Square
HAVANA, July 17, 2012.- Newly appointed Cuban Ambassador took oath this Tuesday at the Memorial José Martí at the Revolution Square.
The 32 new representatives signed the compromise with the presence of the Vice President of the Council of State, Esteban Lazo; the member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of Cuban Communist Party and head of the department of International Relations, José Ramón Balaguer; the Vice President of the Councils of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas; Cuban Chancellor, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, and Homero Acosto, Secretary of the Council of State.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abelardo Moreno, recalled that the essential duty of a Cuban Ambassador is to defend the national security.
Moreno stated that the diplomats should focus on the promotion of the process of Cuban economy update and to face the attemps to diminish its importance.
On behalf of the appointed ambassadors, María del Pilar Fernández Otero explained that they will fullfil their duty amid a complex scenery, with the disdain to the basic norms of international coexistence.
